A local trans woman who was murdered more than two years ago will finally be laid to rest.
A funeral for Diamond Williams will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 14 at St. Miriam, 654 Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown, followed by her burial. A repass will follow at 1:30 p.m. at GALAEI, 149 W. Susquehanna Ave.
Since her murder in July 2013, Williams’ remains have been held at the city Medical Examiner’s Office, unclaimed by relatives who just recently granted permission for community members to claim them. A representative of GALAEI did so this week.
Investigators say Charles Sargent stabbed and dismembered Williams at his Strawberry Mansion home. He will stand trial on murder and other charges in March.
