On Feb. 22, the John C. Anderson Apartments (JCAA) celebrated its 10th anniversary at the LGBTQ+ Senior Summit. PGN Publisher Mark Segal, who spearheaded the foundation of JCAA, spoke on efforts to build the nation’s first LGBTQ-friendly senior apartments and honored the people who helped along the way, including Pennrose Regional Vice President Jacob Fisher, State Rep. Mary Isaacson and former DMH Fund board member Micah Mahjoubian. Also on hand to speak were Mayor Cherelle Parker; JCAA residents Mary Groce and Suz Atlas; and John-Paul C. Hayworth, LGBTQ+Strategy Director, AARP. Sponsors for the event included Comcast NBCUniversal, Pennrose, Jefferson Health, Penn Medicine, 6ABC and Cooper University Medical Center.
