An out gay man is among the Democrats forming exploratory committees while considering running for president in 2020.
Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., is a Navy veteran who served in the war in Afghanistan, according to NBC News reports. He was also a Rhodes scholar.
Buttigieg said in his Twitter announcement, “The show in Washington right now is exhausting. The corruption, the fighting, the lying, the crisis. It’s got to end.”
Buttigieg is 37 years old. That’s just two years above the Constitutional age requirement to run for president.
Oh, and yes, he has a partner.
