A Gayborhood salon is staging a fundraiser Thursday afternoon to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.
From 2-5 p.m. Aug. 31, André Richard Salon will donate 100 percent of its proceeds from haircuts, hair coloring, hair treatments and styling to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
The storm came ashore in Texas last weekend as a Category 4 hurricane and has pounded the Gulf Coast throughout the week with rain and wind. At least 20 people have died and thousands have been evacuated due to rising flood waters.
“We are all so touched and devastated by what’s being called ‘one of the largest disasters America has ever faced,'” owner Drea Richard said in a statement. “I’m happy to do my part to help the many victims in Houston. It is just heart-wrenching.”
The salon is taking appointments and walk-ins are also welcomed.
