Gayborhood locales to participate in restaurant festival

More than 75 restaurants, bars, breweries and wineries will share their products at the second-annual Philadelphia Restaurant Festival.

Among the vendors at the June 15 event at Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences are Gayborhood venues like Insomnia, Lucky Strike, Milkboy, Toasted Walnut, Shibe Vintage Sports, Smokin’ Betty’s and Bank & Bourbon.

In addition to the food and drinks, guests will have the opportunity to explore the museum’s offerings. Vendors will exhibit throughout the Dinosaur Hall, which features fossils of more than 30 dinosaur species, including a 42-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex, as well as amid galleries exploring centuries of scientific findings. Visitors will also have access to a butterfly garden featuring dozens of species from Central and South America, East Africa, and Southeast Asia.

There will be music throughout the event from DJ Joe Broscoe and live perforamnces by Tim Williams.

Proceeds from the event will be divided among several organizations focused on fighting the hunger epidemic in the region: The Food Trust, Philabundance, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, The Common Market, The Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger, The Share Food Program and Fair Food Philly.
