INCIDENTS
— At 2:10 a.m. May 5, a man was walking in the 200 block of South Camac Street when a man with a handgun pushed him against a wall and stole his wallet. The suspect was described as a white male in his 30s, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, with blonde hair, wearing a black wind breaker and jeans. — Between 4:15-4:30 a.m. May 6, someone stole a secured bicycle from outside 1200 Market St. — At 1 p.m. May 11, a male attempted to steal the tip jar from Capogiro, 119 S. 13th St., but an employee thwarted him. The suspect fled and was described as a white male, about 30, 6 feet, with short brown hair, wearing a red shirt and jeans. — At 9 p.m. May 11, a resident was awakened by a noise in the rear of an apartment in the 300 block of South Juniper Street and found a rear window open and a laptop missing. — At 7:15 p.m. May 12, someone stole an iPhone from a charger inside the Venture Inn, 255 S. Camac St. The male suspect was known to the victim. Central Detective Division is investigating.
INON-SUMMARY ARRESTS
— At 1:20 p.m. May 9, a woman was on a westbound Market-Frankford train when a man snatched her iPhone and fled at 13th Street. The victim chased him, and a witness held the suspect until SEPTA Police arrived. The 15-year-old suspect was charged with theft. — At 2 p.m. May 9, a man returned a rental car to Hertz at 1201 Market St. and returned later after realizing he left his iPad in the car. The manager had the employee who cleaned the car escort the man to retrieve the iPad but it was missing. The employee said he didn’t see the device but the man activated the “Find My iPad” app and located it at an Upper Darby store. The store manager showed him video of the male who sold it and it was the same employee who escorted the complainant to the car. The victim returned to Hertz the following day and showed the manager the video, who also identified the employee. Police were called and the 21-year-old male was arrested and charged with theft from a motor vehicle. — On May 9, 6th District plainclothes officers made two arrests for prostitution at 9:30 p.m. outside 261 S. 13th St. and at 11 p.m. outside 300 S. 12th St. — At 8:05 p.m. May 10, SEPTA police arrested a 22-year-old suspect on the subway platform at Eighth and Market streets, and was charged him with possession of marijuana. — At 11:15 p.m. May 11, 6th District Officers Seifert and Wenger arrested a male outside 200 S. 12th St. who was wanted for probation violations. The 51-year-old homeless suspect was charged with escape. — On May 11, a domestic sexual assault was reported inside the Parker-Spruce Hotel, 261 S. 13th St. Later that night, 6th District Officer Cella arrested the known suspect at 315 S. Broad St., and he was charged with sexual assault and related offenses. — At 1:40 a.m. May 12, a bartender at Venture Inn, 255 S. Camac St., told a male patron he was intoxicated and would not be served any more drinks. The male stole $60 from the bar that belonged to another patron and left. Sixth District Sgt. Galonsky and Officer White responded to the 911 call and stopped the suspect a short distance away. The money was recovered and the suspect, with a Phoenix, AZ, adress was charged with theft.
