Dancing in September

    I love this cooler weather!

I know it’s not officially fall yet, but once I get past Labor Day and the nighttime temperature drops below 60, it doesn’t make any difference to me. The days are getting shorter and football is back and that makes me happy because I love the changing of the seasons in and around Philly!

Kick Off on Camac Block Party

It’s the first block party of the fall season!

Join the Greater Philadelphia Flag Football League from 2-8 p.m. Sept. 15 on the 200 block of South Camac Street. They’re closing Camac between Locust and Spruce for food, fun, drink specials and games like washers, ladderball and cornhole! Love me some cornhole action.

If you want to join the league, be at Columbus Square Park at 9 a.m. that day for Skills Day. This is your last chance to show them what you’ve got.

For more information, go to www.phillyflagfootball.com.

    Our Night Out

Catch up with the guys and gals of ONO from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 18 at The Prime Rib, 1701 Locust St. Everyone’s back from summer and ready to chill their way into fall at this monthly social networking party. Meet new friends or share embarrassing shore stories with old ones!

To join their mailing list, find “Our Night Out — Philly” on Facebook.

    Pancakes 4 Supper

When I was a kid we always loved it when Dad went on a business trip because Mom would make the best stuff for dinner — stuff she could never get away with making when Dad was around, like pancakes! What was fun when I was a kid is now a fundraiser while I’m a grownup.

Don’t miss the second annual Philly Trans March fundraiser Pancakes 4 Supper, 6-11 p.m. Sept. 21 at Sam’s Morning Glory Diner, 735 S. 10th St.

Get there early because the place fills up fast — and so will you, because these pancakes are spectacular! It’s only $15 for all-you-can-eat buffet-style, with alcoholic beverages available for an additional donation. Did I mention that both DJ Evil and DJ Tay Tay are spinning on the patio?

    September Stimulus

It’s back-to-school time with Stimulus from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Sept. 21 at Shampoo, 417 N. Eighth St. That means lots of sexy schoolgirls, hot jocks, nerds, professors and even coeds! You heard right, Stimulus will be an 18-and-over event this month (it’s their first time — be gentle!).

It’s $10 to get in the door, 18 and up in the lower lounge and 21 and up on the main floor. Don’t miss the amazing DJs, go-go dancers and all the sexy people you love seeing at a Stimulus event!

    PEC

Get out and get half-naked at PEC, a benefit for the Pennsylvania Hospital Oncology and Hematology Counseling Department, 9 p.m.-2 a.m. Sept. 22 at The Bike Stop, 206 S. Quince St.

Cover is only $10 — or $5 if you take your shirt off! And you’ll need to once DJ Robert Drake starts spinning the classic dance tracks. But you won’t just be having fun for your own sake: 100 percent of the door, draft beer and Jell-O shooter sales will go directly to charity.

As an added bonus, those hot and crazy men and women of Highwaymen TNT will be up from D.C. for their annual Philly road trip and bar night at The Bike Stop, along with their specialty cocktail shooter, Chocolate Spooge!

Don’t know what TNT is? Ask, and they might tell you; if you’re really lucky, they might show you!

    Pulse ’80s & ’90s Bash

If you love ’80s dance music, then don’t miss the Pulse party from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Sept. 22 at Smokin’ Betty’s, 116 S. 11th St. DJ Ka$h will be spinning all your favorites at this 21-and-over event. There’s a $5 cover and a contest for the best ’80s or ’90s outfit, so dress to impress!

    Bar AIDS

Stop by your favorite watering hole on Sept. 27 and raise a glass to help local HIV/AIDS service organizations. Bar AIDS takes the Dining Out for Life concept and applies it to bars and coffee shops, where a portion of all sales that night will go to local charities.

Proceeds go to ActionAIDS, AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania, Mazzoni Center and Philadelphia FIGHT. Check out participating establishments at www.actionaids.org, grab some friends and have a happy hour that will help make others happy.

    Bazaar on Quince

OutFest is right around the corner — Sunday, Oct. 7 — and this year there will be a special leather alley fetish fair on Quince Street right in front of The Bike Stop! They’ll have live fetish performances, bizarre people games, vendors and exhibitors, and DJ Barney Philly spinning outside. More details will be announced, so mark your calendars now and keep an eye on www.quincebazaar.com!
