Ed Hermance, owner of LGBT bookstore Giovanni’s Room, told Santa — also known as out author Samuel Delany — his Christmas wishes during a raffle drawing at the store on Saturday. Alyssa Mutryn, director of development at The Attic Youth Center, took home the grand prize, a package of gift certificates and a two-night hotel stay in the city, worth several hundred dollars. The raffle contest raised $3,990 for the store’s Rebuilding Fund, which will offset costs Giovanni’s Room put out to replace one of its walls, a project that totaled $50,087.50. The fund has so far generated $32,486.68. Photo: Scott Drake
