Philadelphia’s arts and culture scene is set to come alive as Ensemble Arts Philly hosts the Philadelphia Fall Arts Fest on Saturday, Sept. 21. The event is free to the public and will feature performances and opportunities to interact with more than 50 arts organizations from across the region. The festival, held at the Kimmel Center, serves as the kickoff for the city’s fall arts season. The event annually brings together thousands of attendees and highlights the range of arts and culture in Philadelphia.
In a statement, Crystal Brewe — Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Audience Experience Officer for Ensemble Arts Philly — called the festival “an incredible, one-day-only, entirely free event where the community comes out for the arts and the arts come out for the community.”
“It’s the best celebration of all this city has to offer, from an array of musical art forms like Broadway, classical, opera, ballet, tap, and jazz; to visual artistry with world-renowned museums, collections, and cultural institutions; educational opportunities; and so much more,” Brewe said.
The Philadelphia Fall Arts Fest will offer a range of live performances and activities, featuring contributions from Resident Companies and regional arts and cultural organizations. Attendees can expect ticket deals and giveaways throughout the event. Highlights include comic creation workshops with Art Sphere, jewelry design with the Caribbean Community of Philadelphia, and a Musical Instrument Petting Zoo hosted by Keep Music Alive. The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble will also hold a tap shoe giveaway for children, and a small ensemble from the Philadelphia Orchestra is scheduled to perform.
