N.J. woman charged in wife’s murder

A New Jersey woman allegedly shot and killed her wife on Sunday.

Mount Holly Police responded to a call about a possible assault in the 100 block of Mill Street, where they found Felicia Dormans, 29, with a gunshot wound to the face. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police took Laura Bluestein, 28, into custody. According to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, Bluestein said she was married to Dormans. They are also listed as married to one another on social media.

Bluestein was charged with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence. She is being held at Burlington County Jail and is expected to be arraigned later today.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear; officers responded to the scene after a call from a relative of Bluestein’s, the prosecutor’s office said. An autopsy will be performed tomorrow, according to the prosecutor’s office, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

According to their Facebook profiles, Bluestein is originally from Philadelphia and Dormans is from Northampton.
