What’s your opinion of Kathryn Knott’s release from jail?

Nicholas Borsello
student | South Philadelphia
"She should have spent more time in jail. Hate crimes should be taken more seriously. It’s wrong to assault anyone, but singling out someone because of prejudice makes the crime even worse."

Christopher Collinsgru
carpenter/electrician | Kensington
"Her sentence was a slap in the face to the LGBT community. Her victims must feel awful. All of society should be outraged. She should have spent several years in state prison. There’s no way to stop her kind of hatred. She belongs behind bars."

Deborah Drubin
dog walker | Queen Village
"Her sentence didn’t reflect the severity of her crime. I think it was too light. She got special privileges because she’s the daughter of a police chief. I hope she learned her lesson, but I don’t know that she did."

Daniel Ortiz
landscaper | Queen Village
"Five months in jail is nothing. Some people get five months for stealing from a store. She should have spent two years in state prison. One year for the hate crime and one year for the actual assault. What she got was way too lenient."
