Organizers of #Philly4Pulse presented a check for $106,75.25 to Equality Florida CEO Nadine Smith Tuesday at William Way LGBT Community Center.]
The funding was generated through a large-scale fundraiser July 21 in the Gayborhood, in which 14 bars donated their proceeds. Programming was also held at William Way and the Wilma Theater.
The money will go to support Equality Florida’s work with victims of last month’s massacre at an LGBT nightclub in Orlando.
The day after the event, organizers initially estimated $70,000 in fundraising but donations continued to pour in over the ensuing days.
