Philly to again raise trans flag

The transgender Pride flag will again wave outside of Philadelphia City Hall.

The blue, pink and white flag will be raised in a public ceremony and 12:15 p.m. June 9 at the northeast corner of City Hall. The ceremony will mark the opening day of the 15th-annual Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference, held at the nearby Pennsylvania Convention Center through June 11.

The flag flew for the first time last year, drawing a crowd of more than 250 people, many of whom walked in unison from the conference. The initiative was organized by Nellie Fitzpatrick, director of the city’s Office of LGBT Affairs.
