‘BWOY’ STORY: Max-Arthur Mantle is the author of “Batty Bwoy,” a fictional coming-of-age story set in Jamaica and America about Mark Palmer, a gay Jamaican who is thrust into an environment that requires him to suppress his sexuality to keep from being bashed or killed. He migrates to America and breaks free from the closet to a world where he is still marginalized and clings to desperate measures to find hope.
