Arrest made in N. Philly slaying

Police this weekend made an arrest in the recent murder of a lesbian in North Philadelphia.

Investigators say Randolph Sanders shot and killed Kim Jones Jan. 13. Sanders was a co-worker of Jones’ at youth-service organization Turning Points for Children. Investigators believe Sanders targeted Jones because she believed he was stealing money from the organization and he worried he would lose his job; Jones reportedly had a meeting with the Department of Human Services the morning she was killed to discuss the matter.

Sanders has reportedly confessed. He was caught on several surveillance cameras the morning of the shooting, which investigators used to connect him to a vehicle that was in his name.

Jones, a mother of two, married her longtime partner in December.
