Should the letter ‘A’ be added to LGBT, to recognize allies?

Jennifer Duguay
flight attendant | Italian Market
"No. I’m an ally and I don’t need recognition for being supportive of a group. It’s just who I am. I don’t expect kudos. If I’m stigmatized for being an ally, who cares? It’s not about me. Being included in the community won’t make it any different."

Eunique Moore
nurse’s aide | North Philadelphia
"No. Allies don’t need special recognition. The LGBT community already knows the effort they put in. It’s great when they get honored at ceremonies and special events. But that’s enough. Let ‘LGBT’ stay the same."

Hector Rivera
cosmetologist | South Philadelphia
"No. ‘LGBT’ is fine. We’ve had it this long, why change it? People know it by now. Nothing against allies, but if it’s not broken, don’t fix it."

Bianca Roberts
nurse’s aide | South Philadelphia
"No. It just becomes too long and drawn out. Keep it simple and original. There’s no need to add another letter, that just confuses people. It takes away from the original concept."
