The following incidents in the Midtown Village and Washington Square West areas were reported to the 6th Police District between Aug. 5-11. Information is courtesy of 6th District Capt. INCIDENTS — At 12:40 p.m. Aug. 5, a male stole an iPad from the counter at Edible Arrangements, 120 S. 12th St., and fled north on 12th Street. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, 5-foot-8, 140 pounds, with short hair and wearing sunglasses, a white shirt and orange shorts. — Between 9 p.m. Aug. 6 and 8 a.m. Aug. 7, someone stole a GPS from an unlocked 2006 BMW that was parked in the 200 block of South 11th Street. — Between 8 p.m. July 3 and 7 a.m. July 4 (reported Aug. 9), someone stole a bicycle from outside 1108 Spruce St. — At 2:35 a.m. Aug. 10, a woman snatched an iPhone from another woman’s hand at 13th and Spruce streets. The suspect was described as a black female with short hair, a thin build and a dark complexion. — At 2:45 a.m. Aug. 10, a black male, about 5-foot-8, with a thin build and wearing camouflage pants and a black shirt snatched a wallet from a person’s hand at 13th and Chestnut streets. — Between 7 p.m. Aug. 10 and 2 a.m. Aug. 11, someone stole a 2010 BMW that was parked in the paid lot at 1215 Walnut St. The keys were “hidden” on the exterior of the vehicle. — Between 2-2:30 p.m. Aug. 11, someone stole a ladder from the bed of a work truck that was parked in the 1100 block of Market Street. Center City District Officer Fegley was unable to lift fingerprints. — Between 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1 and 4 p.m. Aug. 11, someone stole a secured bicycle from outside 333 S. Broad St.

NON-SUMMARY ARRESTS — At 8:30 p.m. Aug. 7, 6th District plainclothes Officers Ferrero and Grant observed an illegal narcotics sale outside the Parker-Spruce Hotel, 261 S. 13th St. The officers arrested the 43-year-old homeless seller and charged him with illegal narcotics sales, as well as a 40-year-old homeless buyer, who was charged with possession of illegal narcotics. Crack cocaine and cash were confiscated. — At 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8, 6th District plainclothes Officers Ferrero and Grant observed an illegal narcotics sale outside 238 S. Camac St. The officers arrested the 34-year-old North Philadelphia man and charged him with illegal narcotics sales. Crack cocaine, marijuana and cash were confiscated. — At 2:20 p.m. Aug. 9, 6th District Officer Duncan arrested a male outside 302 S. 13th St. who was wanted for probation violations. The 50-year-old suspect with a West Philadelphia address was charged with escape. — At 9:10 p.m. Aug. 9, 6th District plainclothes Officers Ferrero and Grant observed a male smoking a marijuana blunt in the 1200 block of Chancellor Street. The male was arrested and an additional quantity of marijuana was found in his backpack. The 57-year-old West Philadelphia man was charged with possession of marijuana. — At 9:20 p.m. Aug. 9, 6th District Officers Ferrero and Grant arrested a male outside 1200 Chancellor St. who was wanted on a bench warrant for failure to appear for court. The 37-year-old suspect with a local address was charged with contempt of court. — At 12:10 a.m. Aug. 10, 6th District plainclothes Officers Ferrero and Grant observed an illegal narcotics sale outside 250 S. 13th St. The officers arrested the 22-year-old South Philadelphia suspected seller and charged him with illegal narcotics sales. The 42-year-old alleged buyer was charged with possession of illegal narcotics. Crack cocaine, marijuana and cash were confiscated. — At 1:05 a.m. Aug. 11, a woman was in the 1300 block of Pine Street when a male snatched her handbag, causing her to fall. Ninth District officers stopped a male in the 200 block of South 12th Street, and he was positively identified. The 30-year-old suspect with a South Philadelphia address was charged with robbery and related offenses.

SUMMARY ARRESTS — At 10:20 p.m. Aug. 6, 6th District officers issued two citations for summary offenses outside 1300 Drury St. — On Aug. 7, 6th District officers issued citations for summary offenses at 3 p.m. outside 1300 Irving St. and 7:05 p.m. outside 1200 Walnut St. — On Aug. 8, 6th District officers issued citations for summary offenses at 2 a.m. outside 1200 Chancellor St. and 11:40 p.m. outside 1305 Spruce St. — At 12:40 a.m. Aug. 9, 6th District officers issued a citation for a summary offense outside 424 S. 11th St. — On Aug. 11, 6th District officers issued citations for summary offenses at 1:15 a.m. outside 261 S. 13th St. and 3 a.m. outside 1200 Market St.
