Philly Pride season has begun! It’s no small matter of pride for me that Philadelphia has so many gosh-darn Pride events. So fasten your seatbelt, it’s going to be a great ride! Philly Black Gay Pride Opening Party and Family Reunion Philly Black Pride gets started from 6-8 p.m. April 26 at the Ethical Society of Philadelphia, 1906 Rittenhouse Square. Mr. and Miss Philly Black Gay Pride will be there, along with the winner of the poetry slam, to entertain you. There is a $10 cover charge. Girlz Gone Pride Stick around from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. April 26 at the Ethical Society of Philadelphia for the first official girls’ party of Philly Black Gay Pride weekend. Cover charge is $20. Dark & Twisted Burlesque Join the sexy seductresses at Sisters from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. April 26 at 1320 Chancellor St. Feast your eyes on Lady Lazarus, Eyrie Twylite, Timaree, hunky pole dancer Alfie Sosa and your host, The Notorious OMG. There is a $6 cover charge. Gryphons’ 10th anniversary Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Philly’s only gay rugby club from 8-11 p.m. April 27 at Square Peg, 929 Walnut St. The family-style menu will overflow with comfort food, and there will be an open bar featuring beer and wine from beginning to end. Tickets are only $50 and proceeds benefit the team’s efforts to travel to Sydney, Australia, to compete in the 2014 Bingham Cup. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 5 Show Prepare to be blown away at 10 p.m. April 27 at Voyeur Nightclub, 1221 St. James St., when Mimi Imfurst presents a Season 5 Cast Party. The lineup is amazing: Alaska, Jinkx, Detox, Roxxxy and Ivy will all be there, along with host Michelle Visage and special guest Lil’ Pound Cake (that was Alaska and Lineysha’s scary drag-pageant baby from Episode 3 … who looked more than a little bit like Mimi). Tickets are $25 for general admission or $60 for a one-hour meet-and-greet starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are available online at dragracephilly.brownpapertickets.com, and you’d better line up early, gurl, because you know this will be a sell-out, and the house will be packed! Equality Forum parties Equality Forum is known for its fascinating panels and informative programs, but it’s also jam-packed with parties! Get your Forum started at 9 p.m. May 2 at Mixto, 1141 Pine St., with amazing Cuban, Latin and Caribbean food and drink specials. Next up is the Drag Party at 8 p.m. May 3 at Tabu, 200 S. 12th St. Things really heat up May 4 with the Sisters Rocks block party from 5-9 p.m. on Chancellor between 13th and Juniper streets, the Girl Fever party at 8:30 p.m. at Sisters and the Men’s Party at 10 p.m. at ICandy, 254 S. 12th St. There’s literally something for everybody at Equality Forum! Equality Forum SundayOUT Equality Forum ends with a bang from noon-6 p.m. May 5 at The Piazza, 1000 N. Second St. Live entertainment will include Kerli, the Fuego Dance Company, Maya Jakobson, DJ K.Ash and drag artist Osher Sabag. Cover charge is only $10. Catch the free shuttle back and forth from Sisters, which is hosting the closing SundayOUT Tea Dance from 6-10 p.m., with a cover charge of only $5. OurNightOut Join ONO from 6-8 p.m. May 9 at The Pyramid Club, 1735 Market St., for a cash bar, tasty nibbly bits and spectacular views of the city from the 52d floor. Admission is free and the dress code is business-casual.
