    The following incidents in the Midtown Village and Washington Square West areas were reported to the 6th Police District between Aug. 27-Sept. 2. Information is courtesy of 6th District Capt.     INCIDENTS

    — Between 6 p.m. Aug. 24 and 8 a.m. Aug. 27, an unlocked 2003 Toyota parked in the 800 block of Locust Street was rummaged through; nothing was taken. This report was received by the DPR Unit via phone, thus police were not dispatched.

    — Between 10:30 a.m. Aug. 27 and noon Aug. 31, a 2007 Mazda was stolen from the 400 block of South Ninth Street. It was recovered Sept. 1 in the 1100 block of South Fifth Street.

    — On 10:50 p.m. Aug. 27, a woman’s handbag was stolen from an outside table at Tria, 1137 Spruce St., by a white male in his late 20s, 6-foot, thin build and wearing a white T-shirt and light pants. The woman chased the male east on Spruce Street until he dropped the handbag and she recovered all her belongings.

    —Between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 27 and 10 a.m. Aug. 28, a 2011 Ocean City Moped was stolen from outside 1317 Spruce St.

    — Between 1 p.m. Aug. 27 and 2 p.m. Aug. 29, a secured bicycle was stolen from outside 413 S. 11th St.

    — Between 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 28, a secured bicycle was stolen from outside 111 S. 11th St.

    — Between 4 p.m. Aug. 28 and 4 p.m. Aug. 31, a copper downspout was stolen from a residence in the 1200 block of Panama Street. Another downspout was taken from another residence on the block around Aug. 14 but not reported until Aug. 31.

    — At 4:35 p.m. Aug. 29, two males were observed on security video taking gold bracelets from the display inside Ice Age Jewelry, 1116 Market St. The men were described as black males, 21-25 years old; one was 280 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and cap and blue shorts. The other was 265 pounds and wearing a white T-shirt and glasses.

    — On Aug. 30, a man met up with a male he knew but hadn’t seen for a long time at 12th and Pine streets. The male took the man’s backpack and fled south on 12th Street. Central Detective Division is investigating and will obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect charging him with theft.

    — At 10:50 a.m. Aug. 31, a 2000 Nissan involved in an auto accident at 800 Pine Street was towed by a company that the vehicle owner stated went out of business, and he can’t locate his vehicle.

    — Between 3:15-4:45 p.m. Aug. 31, a secured bicycle was stolen from outside 1300 Sansom St.

    — Between 5:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 31, a secured bicycle was stolen from outside 800 Spruce St.

    — Between 3 p.m. Sept. 1 and noon Sept. 2, a 2009 Hyundai, parked with the valet at 1201 Market St., was stolen.

    NON-SUMMARY ARRESTS

    — At 6:50 p.m. Aug. 30, 6th District Officers Cooper and Cash arrested a male wanted on a bench warrant for failure to appear for court outside 1220 Chestnut St. The 36-year-old suspect with a North Philadelphia address was charged with contempt of court.

    SUMMARY ARRESTS

    — On Aug. 29, Center City District officers issued a citation for a summary offense outside 1100 Market St. at 5:20 p.m.

    — On Aug. 31, 6th District bike patrol officers issued a citation for a summary offense outside 1200 Market St. at 10:55 a.m.

    — On Sept. 1, 6th District officers issued a citation for a summary offense outside 1200 Market St. at 7:35 p.m.

    — On Aug. 1, 6th District bike patrol officers issued a citation for a summary offense outside 1200 Market St. at 10:55 a.m.
