Guests at the opening reception for Ballroom History Weekend gathered Oct. 1 at the William Way LGBT Center to celebrate the kick-off of the city’s inaugural celebration of ballroom culture. The weekend’s events, which included workshops and social activities for area youth and their supporters, recognized the 20th anniversary of the first ballroom event in Philadelphia and shed light on the community that has provided a haven for countless LGBT youth over the past two decades.
