The focus should be on creating safe environments for students to be themselves. “I read somewhere that he doesn’t feel any remorse. That angers me. I think he needs to do extensive community service, so he recognizes the severity of the situation. But don’t give him jail time. He’s young. Going to jail could destroy his chances of ever having a normal life.”
